Quartz Crystal taken at The Crystal Cave, Atherton during one of my many trips up north with a girlfriend of mine.
Some “Fun Facts” about the Quartz Crystal (information gathered from The Crystal Cave):-
? It is most frequently formed in the inner lining of geodes (as seen in this image) or as crystal clusters;
? It is one of the world’s most well-known minerals and occurs in almost every mineral environments;
? It is one of the most varied minerals and can occur in different forms, habits and colours;
? It has many different uses such as jewellery, glass, watches, an abrasive for sandblasting and computers;
? They are incredibly unique in the form of a hexagonal and are usually identified with their pointed and often uneven crystal face.
